What are the signs of domestic abuse?

Physical abuse such as: hitting with hands, fists or a weapon, kicking, punching, slapping, beating, strangulation, and/or pushing.

Verbal abuse such as: constant criticism, making humiliating remarks, name-calling, mocking, embarrassing the victim in public, lying, being overly jealous, keeping weapons and threatening to use them.

Sexual abuse such as: forcing sex on an unwilling partner, degrading treatment, demanding sexual acts the victim does not want to perform.

Isolation such as: making it difficult for the victim to see friends and relatives, monitoring phone calls, controlling where the victim goes, taking the victim's car keys.

Destruction of property such as: destroying personal belongings of the victim, punching walls, abusing pets, throwing or breaking things.
